IRON RIVER—The 31st annual Dusty Larson Memorial Golf Scramble will be held Monday, July 29, at the George Young Recreational Complex. This fun event is sponsored by Grace Covenant Church of Iron River.
The event, held in memory of Pastor Quentin “Dusty” Larson, is a fund-raiser for Covenant Point Bible Camp on Hagerman Lake and Covenant Town and Country Ministries. Covenant Point is a summer camp for the hundreds of kids that attend every summer, and also hosts outdoor/nature programs for local schools throughout the year. The other fund recipient, Town and Country Ministries, is a debt-reduction fund that assists pastors serving rural churches. These organizations were close to the heart of the late Dusty Larson.
Registration for the scramble begins at 7:45 a.m. with a shotgun start 9. This is a four-person scramble—you can register as a team or individually to be assigned to a team. The entry fee of $100 (per person) includes golf, lunch in the clubhouse, golf cart and valuable prizes.
There are prizes for a hole-in-one on each par three hole, including a 2013 Chevy Sonic on hole 18! There will also be great items up for silent auction! You can also support the even by being “hole sponsor” with a donation of $25 or more.
To participate in this fun event or if you’re looking for more information, contact Ed Lindwall (265-2200) or the Grace Covenant Church office (265-9951).
