AMASA—The Amasa 125th birthday Committee is planning another fundraiser for its 2016 event.
The inaugural Duck Race is scheduled on Memorial Day, May 27. Tickets are $5 each and are available at Horseshoe Bar, Rusty Sawblade, Tall Pines and U.S. 2 Rental. With only 100 ducks being sold, there’s a great chance to win.
The race takes place at the Hematite Township Park at 1 p.m. This raffle is sponsored by the Amasa Historical Society, which is hosting its annual Heritage Day the same day as the duck race.
As always, Memorial Day kicks off the museum’s season opener with a noon flag raising in honor of the late Roy Koski, a car show, food, live music, and attractions for kids. Festivities last until about 3 p.m. “Come to Amasa for some old fashioned fun.”
