CRYSTAL FALLS—Local volunteers are again planning a community Thanksgiving dinner for residents of Crystal Falls, Alpha and Amasa.
“Last year, the dinner was reinstated, thanks to the very generous donations of area individuals, businesses and churches,” said a spokesperson.
The traditional dinner will be served Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Guardian Angels Church Hall.
“We welcome area seniors, families and visitors to enjoy a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings.”
Volunteers will deliver meals to those who are homebound.
“This year, we will prepare food to serve 300 people.”
Volunteers are needed to help prepare food on Tuesday, Nov. 20, and Wednesday, Nov. 21, and to serve, clean and deliver meals to the homebound.
Those who can volunteer are asked to contact Mary at 875-6364 or Maureen at (906) 367-6477.
“We are planning this dinner with some funds from the previous year, but we are uncertain what our expenses will be with the increase in food costs. We are accepting monetary donations and/or door prizes for this dinner.”
Committee members will be able to pick up any door prizes and those making donations are asked to call 875-6364 or (906) 367-6477 to leave a message. The account for this dinner is at CoVantage Credit Union and donations can be brought to CoVantage or can be mailed to: Crystal Falls Community Thanksgiving Dinner, P.O. Box 224, Crystal Falls, MI 49920.
