Mary Ellen Burke

IRON RIVER — Mary Ellen Burke, 90, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at Legacy of the Northwoods Assisted Living in Eagle River, Wis. A visitation was held Friday, Feb. 23, at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services followed at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Danile Fosu having offered the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in the spring. A special thank you to Kristy and staff at Legacy of the Northwoods of Eagle River for their love, care, and devotion in making a wonderful home for Mary Ellen. Jane Holm

BATES TOWNSHIP — Jane Elizabeth Johnson Holm of Bates Township, 96, died Feb. 15, 2024. A visitation was held Feb. 21 at the First Lutheran Church in Iron River. Funeral followed with Vicar Lance Crevier having officiated. IRON RIVER — Edward C. Jones, 75, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, at UP Health System, Marquette. A visitation was held Feb. 24, at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Duane Juneau

CASPIAN — Duane M. Juneau, 77, passed away Feb. 15, 2024. He was born Jan. 8, 1947, in Stambaugh, the son of the late Vernon and Phyllis (Johnson) Juneau. He attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the class of 1965. Jerry Pangrazzi

MARQUETTE — Jerry R. Pangrazzi, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living and Memory Care, under the care of Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice. A private graveside service will be held at a later time in Park Cemetery. A memorial celebration will be announced for July 2024, where Jerry’s family and friends will remember his life. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are kindly asked to consider Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice, 914 W. Jayne Schmidt

BIG RAPIDS — Jayne M. Schmidt, 62, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 18, 2024 at her home. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 2, at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Blair Semke

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Blair Michael Semke, 71, passed into eternal life Feb. 18, 2024. He was born Aug. 22, 1952, to the late Walter and Elvira (Hakomaki) Semke in Iron Mountain. A memorial gathering took place Feb. 23 at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center of Sheboygan. Cremation took place along with the ashes of his beloved cat family who went before him. It was his wish. A funeral mass took place Feb. 26 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Northwoods Animal Shelter, 930 Selden Road, Iron River, Michigan 49935.
