Josie Principe is the recipient of the Seven Seals award, given to individuals who have “demonstrated strong support of service members.”

The Seven Seals award is presented at the discretion of individual state chairs of the Employer Support of Guard and Reserves, in this case Major Breen.

“Josie’s Barber Shop has definitely served her country and made significant sacrifices to support the Michigan Army National Guard and the active U.S. military forces, such as sending gifts to deployed soldiers and helping out military families in Iron River while their loved ones were deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom,” said Pamela Basal, team lead for the Reserve Component Transition Assistance Advisor Program, who referred Principe to Major Breen for the award.

Principe’s father Joseph Principe is a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in World War II, as well as in Korea and Vietnam. Her brother, Joseph Principe II, is a retired U.S. Army veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm as well as peace-keeping operations in Bosnia and Kosovo and two combat tours during Operation Enduring Freedom.
