ALPHA—The Circle Café, located inside the Porter School Market Place here, is now open to the public.

IRON RIVER—The next Open Mic of the 2013 season is Saturday, April 27, at 7 p.m. at the Windsor Center, sponsored by The Silver Moon.

CRYSTAL FALLS—The Crystal Falls Lions Club has selected Max Woelffer as Citizen of the Year.

CASPIAN--A mini-grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) has been awarded to the Iron County Museum to assist with sponsoring some special programs that feature our cultural heritage.

IRON COUNTY—Contributing to our neighbors in a time of need is nothing new to those living in a small, close-knit community, and that is precisely what a newly-formed local organization aims to do.

CRYSTAL FALLS—This Friday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Forest Park PTO Carnival will take place in the high school gym for elementary students.

CRYSTAL FALLS—The Crystal Falls Tufts Rondon VFW is the place to be on Sunday, April 21 for a “toe-tapping” afternoon of music and dancing or just listening pleasure.

CASPIAN—The study committee on “What Women Have Contributed to the Growth of Iron County,” as homemakers, business owners, professional occupations, politically and especially through volunteerism, has been a project of the Iron County Historical and Museum Society for almost a year.

Area children enjoyed an Easter egg hunt March 19 at the West Iron District Library. The event was held in conjunction with story hour and a crafting session for children and parents alike.

IRON RIVER—In response to the great public support for the “Always Patsy Cline” concert last summer, the Friends of Camp Batawagama (FOCB) have decided to sponsor two “Elvis is in the Building” concerts this summer on July 10 and July 12 at the Windsor Center.
