Snow drag races slated for Saturday at airport

CRYSTAL FALLS—For the second year in a row, the Mid America Snow and Terrain Expert Racers, commonly known as the MASTERS, will bring professionally-sanctioned snowmobile drag racing to the Iron County Airport on Saturday, March 2.

INDIAN LAKE--The Iron County Youth Camp will be mailing out registration forms beginning March 1. Band Camp registration forms will be mailed out and available after Feb. 1.

Seven brave sledders came to Caspian for the Winterfest Cardboard Classic. Pictured, from left, are Alyssa Murray, Kaitlyn Smith, Autumn Smith, Johnothan Swenski, Julie Swenski, Tanner Nordstrom and Taylor Bett. Winning the race was Johnothan Swenski, Kaitlyn Smith came in second followed by Alyssa Murray. Best decorated sled award was given to Taylor Bett, second place went to Tannner Nordstrom and third place to Johnothan Swenski.

CASPIAN—Snowmobiles, speed, daring and skill dominate the weekend of Feb. 16-17 at the Caspian Ski Hill.
The second annual Mid America Championship Hillclimb (MACH) will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16, topped by a new Sunday event, the MASTERS Iron Range Trail Club uphill snowmobile drag races.
