IRON MOUNTAIN—It’s been so long since West Iron’s volleyball team lifted a district championship trophy. But all those years of frustration ended here Nov. 1 when the Wykons rallied from far, far behind to defeat Ironwood in the championship match 3-2.

CRYSTAL FALLS—After putting its 13th consecutive Class D district championship in the bag last week, Forest Park’s volleyball team will go after its third straight regional title this week in Kingsford.

CRYSTAL FALLS—Led by Lexi Gussert, Forest Park dominated the Skyline Conference in volleyball again this season, and the Lady Trojans captured nearly every major award when the all-conference team was announced last week.

L’ANSE—What a tough way to go!
A 32-yard touchdown pass with 41 seconds left decided an intense and exciting battle for survival in the Division 8 playoffs, as L’Anse pulled off a 34-28 win over Forest Park here Oct. 26.

 
Lady Trojans enter tourney after outlasting Kingsford

CRYSTAL FALLS—The boredom and doldrums of mid season are long gone. Forest Park’s volleyball team seems to be peaking at the perfect time—as Kingsford and Bark River-Harris found out last week.
After stopping Kingsford in a five-set thriller Oct. 23, the Lady Trojans wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 shutout of Bark River Oct. 25, completing another perfect 12-0 season in the Skyline Conference. FP takes a 27-3-3 overall mark into the post-season.
