Man charged with copper tubing theft

CRYSTAL FALLS—A 53-year-old Green Bay man has been arrested by authorities in connection with the theft of copper tubing from a hunting camp in northern Hematite Township. He is also being investigated in connection with thefts at other camps in the area.

IRON MOUNTAIN—Troopers from the Iron Mountain State Police Post responded to a personal injury crash, which was reported at 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the intersection of U.S. 141 and East Breitung Avenue in Breitung Township.

 
M-73 water project nearly done

STAMBAUGH TOWNSHIP—At its regular Oct. 2 meeting, the Stambaugh Township Board was informed by the water department that the M-73 line replacement should be completed and ready for use by the end of next week.

 
Westphal retires from Reporter as editor

IRON RIVER—The staff and management of the Iron County Reporter has announced the retirement of Allyce Westphal as editor.
During her time at the Reporter, she won several Good News Awards and many certificates of merit for feature articles, her regular column, “County Café,” and photographs.
