Deputies respond to accidental shooting PDF Print E-mail

CRYSTAL FALLS—The Iron County Sheriff Office recently responded to report of a self-inflicted accidental shooting of a Crystal Falls Township woman.
Central Dispatch received a call shortly after 8 a.m. on Jan. 27, reporting that Michelle Stebic, 49, had an accidental discharged a handgun that hit her in the ankle.
Deputies for the Iron County Sheriff Office arrived on the scene and found that the victim had a self-inflicted gunshot wound that struck both legs. Stebic was examining the gun and thought the chamber had been cleared when it discharged.
She was taken to NorthStar hospital by NorthStar EMS. Iron County Sheriff Deputies were assisted by the Michigan State Police.
