AMASA—The Amasa 125th Committee held an Ice Fishing Contest on Saturday, Jan. 11. The event and check-in were held at the Amasa Area Recreation Center.
Winners of the contest were: Lisa Thone with Biggest Northern Pike at 30 3/4”; Dylon Stroud with Smallest Northern Pike at 25 1/2”; Kevin Schiavo with Biggest Walleye at 25 3/8” and Craig Richardson with Smallest Walleye at 15”.
The winners received cash payouts of $100 and $50 respectively for each category. Door prizes were also awarded and a meal was provided to attendees.
“The committee is grateful to all persons who signed up for the contest and to all persons and businesses who helped make this event a success. Amasa’s the Scene in 2016, 1891-2016, 125 years in between,” said a spokesperson.
