IRON RIVER—The annual Holiday in Lights celebration and Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7. The theme for this year’s parade is “Storybook Christmas,”announced the Iron County Chamber of Commerce and the Iron River Downtown Development Association.
For the Holiday in Lights weekend, organizers are asking community organizations having events that coincide with the Dec. 7 celebration to get their information to the Iron County Chamber of Commerce. Area businesses that will be having promotions and specials for the event or during the Christmas parade are also asked to relay information to the chamber so that it can be included in the promotions.
Currently, the celebration weekend includes the Holiday in Lights Arts & Crafts Fair at the Windsor Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Santa Claus will be at the West Iron District Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the library will also host a chili feed and bake sale.
This year, cash prizes will be awarded to best themed floats at the parade. Also, any float that returns to the Iron River RV Park for the community Christmas tree lighting will be lit during a ceremony, and fireworks will be included in a prize drawing.
