ALPHA—Bring your pet to the Porter School pet parade and support the Northwoods Animal Shelter.
Un-Leashed pet shop, in the Porter School Market Place, will host this fundraising event on Saturday, June 9, in Alpha. Pets can “strut their stuff” on the lawn of the Porter School during the parade that will begin at 10 a.m.   Registration for the event will begin at 9 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded in categories including Diva Dog, Macho Mutt, Festive Feline, Kooky Kitty and Precious Paws.
Registration for the event encourages a donation of one of the Northwoods Animal Shelter wish list items or any monetary donations. For more information on the wish list items, call the shelter at 265-7387.
Volunteers from the shelter will be on hand to answer questions about adopting a pet.
While your pet is dressed for the parade, get a pet-family photo taken by Karen Paddock Photography.
In addition to the pet parade, the Northwoods Animal Shelter will be holding the sixth annual four-person golf scramble on Sunday, June 10, at George Young Recreation Complex with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. For more information about the Porter Pet Parade, contact Julie Melchiori at Stitch In Time at 265-9686 or e-mail julie@jmjmenterprises.com or the shelter at 265-7387 for the golf outing.
