Forest Park’s Dustin Dishaw, one of the U.P.’s top Division 3 golfers this spring, with several medalist honors already, tees off for another round at the Crystal View course May 11.
CRYSTAL FALLS—Forest Park’s golf team, led by Dustin Dishaw, continued its strong play by winning the Highland Invitational May 7 at Highland Golf Course near Hyde.
Dishaw shot a 73 to earn medalist honors for the boys, as the Trojans (326) won by 34 strokes over North Central (360). Bark River-Harris (369) was third.
Backing up Dishaw was David Beck, who was runner-up with a round of 80. Matthew Sawyer (86) and Kevin Stankewicz (87) rounded out the Forest Park lineup.
For the girls, Lexi Gussert led Forest Park with a nine-hole 57, followed by teammates Abby Sommers (61), Hannah Marinoff (65) and Toni Santi (67).
Bark River won the girls team title with a total score of 200. North Central was second with 248, and Forest Park third at 250.

Forest Park finished with a 178-179 win over the Patriots, and Dishaw won a playoff for medalist honors after carding a nine-hole score of 40. He defeated Westwood’s Tanner Truscott in the playoff.
Kevin Stankewicz shot a 44 for the Trojans, David Beck had a 45, and Dennis Mitchell shot 49.
• The Trojans host Norway at George Young on May 16 and L’Anse at Crystal View on May 18. The Skyline/CUP Conference meet is scheduled for May 21 at George Young.
