Those who are partrons of the West Iron District Library know what an amazing library we have here. However, if you have never had a reason to use it, let me tell you about some of the features and services our library provides for all ages.
As would be expected, a huge selection of books, magazines and newspapers is available. Our library keeps up with all the newest book titles, both fiction and non-fiction, and if the book you want can’t be found on the shelf, it can be ordered for you from inter-library loan and received within a few days. Our children’s section is filled with books, games, puzzles, toys and many learning collections that can be checked out for use at home. Adult puzzles are also available to check out, as well as music CDs and movie DVDs.

Our library has done a great job of keeping up with the digital age with collections provided through Libby, a source for borrowing as many as 397,011 items. A new benefit of the library is Hoopla, a streamiing service for audio books, comics, e-books, movies, games, music and TV. The Hoopla app can be downloaded to a tablet, smartphone, Roku, FireTV and Apple TV. Patrons can sign up for a new account for free.

One can also use a computer, send a fax, laminate, copy, and print. Wireless printing is available, as well. Many workspaces are provided, including a sound-proof booth where one can conduct a video call, or just work in a quiet space. Meeting areas are available to reserve.

The WIDL hosts programs and activities for all ages, including Story Time, After School Crafts, Live Music Lunch, Summer book club and Board Game Night, to name a few. The WIDL Facebook page provides a list.
Perhaps the best part of our library is the staff, who go out of their way to help you with whatever you need, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Many visitors have commented that our small town library far surpasses libraries found in bigger cities  So, if you’ve never been to the West Iron District Library, check out this amazing gem of our area.
