WIC boys tennis off to a hot start

IRON RIVER—West Iron’s boys tennis team started its new season hot and hasn’t cooled off during a coolish spring.
The Wykons, coached by Joe Serbentas, improved their dual meet record to 3-0 last week with wins at home against Iron Mountain and Gwinn.
The team got its season off to a strong start by finishing fourth at the six-team Menominee Yooper Classic Invitational on April 21.
The place wasn’t so high, but the team point total was. The Wykons finished four points behind first place Escanaba, which won with 23 points. Kingsford and Westwood tied for second at 20, and WIC finished with 19.
