Trojans roll past Miners

Out of my way! Forest Park’s Lee Graff stiff-arms a Gogebic defender as he finds an open lane downfield. Graff finished the game with 186 total yards and three touchdowns.

CRYSTAL FALLS—Despite some new faces in new places, it was the same old Forest Park football team at work here in its playoff opener here Oct. 31, knocking off the Gogebic Miners 42-22 in a Division 8 district semifinal game.
    With the win, the Trojans will host Bark River-Harris on Nov. 7 for the district title.
    Don’t be fooled by the 42-22 final score. After the Trojans took a 42-0 lead early in the fourth quarter, most of their starters were pulled. Gogebic got three consolation scores against the reserves in the game’s final minutes.
    As for the new faces--Forest Park’s Daniel Nocerini and Zach Aberly both sat out the game due to injuries. That led to a flurry of position changes: Jacob DeNell from guard to flanker-backfield; Kyle Soderberg from tackle to tight end; soph Will Toivonen to tackle; and soph Jeremy Johnson to
