Soccer registration starts on March 19
IRON RIVER—Registration for this summer’s Iron River SAY youth soccer league will begin this Thursday. March 19, from 1-6 p.m. during the Parenting Fair at the West Iron District Library.
Children from 4 to 15 years old are invited to register for the six-week summer league, with games beginning the week of July 13 and ending the week of Aug. 17. The cost is $37 for the first child in a family and $30 for the second child, with a maximum fee of $75 per family.
Registration will also be held April 1 from 3-5:30 p.m. at Stambaugh Elementary School gym and April 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stambaugh Elementary during the annual Fun Fair. All registrations and payments will be send in May 1, and there will be no refunds once the draft is complete.
Those interested may register at www.ironriversoccer.com. From the website, print the registration form and mail to the address on the form with payment no later than May 1.
During registration, the league is holding a soccer equipment swap. Parents are asked to donate used/like-new gear, which will be made available to players during registration. Equipment can be dropped off at registration, at State Farm Insurance or at Grace Covenant Church in Iron River.
The league is also teaming up Challenger Sports to offer a British soccer camp during the week of June 15-19 at the fields in Gaastra. Look for more information during soccer registration and in the school offices.
