Snipe Lake II wins pool title
IRON RIVER—Despite missing three of its regular players, second-seeded Snipe Lake II captured the Iron County Men’s Pool League championship with an 8-0 victory over No. 1 seed Knotheads I.
The win is Snipe Lake II’s seventh championship in the last 10 years, according to secretary Mike Kunchynski. The team went undefeated in this year’s tournament.
Snipe Lake II, which has topped the regular-season standings in six of the last 10 years, finished second during the regular season this year behind Knotheads I.
The league banquet will be held on Saturday, April 20 at Knotheads. Drinks will start at 4 p.m. with dinner at 6. Trophy presentation will be held from 7-7:30 p.m.
All those interested must pre-pay by April 13 at Knotheads or to league treasurer Dave Villeneuve.
The menu will consist of ribeye steaks on the grill, salad, mashed potatoes with gravy, Settler’s beans, potato salad and a desert.
