Log Cabin Days celebrated at museum

The Iron County Historical Museum held Log Cabin Day on June 23. The day began with a brunch that included pancakes and was followed by a “living history” of life in a logging camp and the log homestead that was common for rural residents of Iron County in the early 1900s. Betty Kangas Petroski and her daughter Gayle Wade demonstrated log cabin living, while museum historical consultant Larry Melstrom and log cabin restorer Joe Kangas added their expertise to the event. -- photos by Kevin Zini
