CRYSTAL FALLS — Prior to the start of this week’s volleyball district action, the Forest Park Lady Trojans had one last regular-season match, at Bark River-Harris on Oct. 25.
A slow start in both the first two sets put FP on its heels and the result was a 25-7, 25-14, 27-25 loss to the Broncos.
Forest Park coach Bobbie Anderson told the Escanaba Daily Press that her team’s defeat was caused by two factors.
“We started off pretty slow in the first and second sets,” Anderson said. “Really, we were just beating ourselves. We weren’t making them fight.
“Unfortunately, this season has been a whole lot of practice and not a lot of games. A lot of those mistakes and rotation things you can work out through invitationals and all your games, we didn’t have that this year.”
No team or individual statistics were reported by Forest Park.
After a first-round bye, Forest Park (2-7) will open Division 4 District 99 play on Wednesday against the winner of Monday’s Hannahville-Carney-Nadeau first-round match.
The Wolves went in heavily favored and would host the Lady Trojans in the semifinal round.
