CRYSTAL FALLS – With the Michigan High School Athletic Association postseason tournament right around the corner, the Forest Park Lady Trojans could not have picked a better time to get back on track. With consecutive victories and only two games remaining in the regular season, the Trojan wins will provide a modicum of swagger for the young team.

“It’s nice getting wins at any time during the season, but hopefully getting a few wins now sparks some excitement and gives us some confidence going into the postseason,” stated a pleased and hopeful Trojan Coach Kim Bjork.

On Feb. 15, coming off a convincing 60–7 victory over Rapid River, the Trojans defeated the Nordics of North Dickinson by a score of 58–35.

Forest Park came out strong, scoring 24 points in the first quarter, and established a 32–22 halftime lead. The Trojans continued to play well and in the second half doubled up their opponent, scoring 26 points to North Dickinson’s 13.
Junior Lilly Post recognized the importance of the wins.

“It’s a really good motivator and confidence booster,” Post said. “We really needed the two wins to help us go in the right direction and mindset for the tougher games which are upcoming.”

Eight Trojans scored on the night with Sophomore Elsie Williams leading the team with 20, Kaidince Woollard scoring 15 and Ava Fischer and Charlie Larson both contributing six points.
