Iron River Country Club opens
IRON RIVER—The Iron River Country Club course opened on Monday, May 11 and will be open daily weather permitting.
The IRCC is following the state of Michigan’s directives closely. As of the Executive Order 2020-77 update on May 8, the club now has more specific instructions pertaining to golf course procedures.
Per the order:
• Golf carts are permitted with social distancing
• Golf shop may be open for curbside pickup
• Food and beverage services may be provided to the golfer
• No alcohol will be served at this time
“We are very excited to be able to open the IRCC at this time,” said Tracey Nelson, IRCC Board president. “The club has worked diligently to protect its members, employees and visitors of the club, implementing many disinfecting procedures.”
Nelson added that the club will not have water stations or bunker rakes on the course. The flagsticks will not be removed during play and the driving range will be opened at a later date.
Payments will be taken at the clubhouse. Members can walk on, while the visiting public will need to make tee times to ensure proper distancing. Members may use their own carts and the club is encouraging others to either bring their own carts or pull carts.
Changes will be posted and updated at ironrivergolf.com or on Facebook at Iron River Country Club.
For more information or to make tee times, call 265-3161.
“We are excited to start the summer golfing with safety measures in place to protect us all now and in the future,” Nelson said.
“We thank you for your patience during this difficult time.”
