Winter Fun Day in Beechwood

BEECHWOOD—The Beechwood Historical Society is offering the community a day of old-fashioned fun at its Winter Fun Day on Saturday, Jan. 12. The event will run from 2-7 p.m. at the Beechwood Hall.
Outdoor activities will include snowshoe sprints (three age classes and distances), sack races, other old-fashioned races and snowball targets from 2-4 p.m.
“We have a limited number of snowshoes to borrow out,” said Charlotte Bofinger of the Beechwood Historical Society. “If you have our own snowshoes, please bring them. These are not ‘sanctioned’ races - just some fun winter activities.”
There will be hot dogs and marshmallows to roast outside, with chili and hot beverages from 4-5 p.m. At 5, there will be a bonfire.
If the weather is too severe, there will be games, food and other activities inside the Beechwood Hall. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.
The Beechwood Hall is located at 178 Beechwood Store Road. The building is handicap-accessible with a ramp in the back of the building (access from Cemetery Road entrance and from the west parking lot). There are also ADA-accessible bathrooms inside.
