TU to host fly-tying fundraiser April 25

IRON RIVER—The Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited, which is the local chapter of TU, is currently involved with many cold-water fish habitat projects on Cooks Run, the Paint River and the Iron River and also provides outdoor related opportunities to young people, schools, and veterans.
To support this broad range of work, the chapter is continuing its fundraising efforts by hosting a fly-tying class presented by Dark Waters Fly Shop and Guide Service.  The class will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Alpha Michigan Brewing Company located on the square in Alpha.
Seth Waters, owner of Dark Waters Fly Shop in Iron River, will be assisted by some of his friends as they teach how to tie both large bass, pike or musky flies and small trout flies.
Registration requires a $100 donation paid in advance. In return for the donation to Trout Unlimited, participants will be given a high-quality fly-tying kit, some tying materials, plenty of personal attention directed toward their personal interest as well as help afterwards.
