Spotted twins

These twin fawns, spotted in Iron County, are a familiar spring and summer sight throughout the area. These spots help fawns blend in with the myriad of blooming wildflowers and weeds. When will they lose their spots? By October, the young fawns normally lose their spots and at that time are foraging rather than nursing, well on their way to adulthood.  (photo by Kevin Zini)
