Sharpshooters 4-H club medal in state tournament
CRYSTAL FALLS— On Aug. 3, the Iron County Sharpshooters 4-H club participated in the 4-H State Shooting Sports Tournament in Kimball. The four competitors competed in senior air rifle and junior bb gun. The senior air rifle competitors dominated the podium with Caitlyn Bloomburg taking first place, Mindy McKinnon placing second and Brittany Cunningham recording a third-place finish. They also took first place in teams senior division air rifle. Junior bb gun competitor Brennon Gursky did not metal but came in fourth place. He placed one point behind the third-place competitor.
“This is an event which goes on every year in August. Our shooters practice every Thursday and Saturday two months before going downstate,” said club leader Cynthia Absolon. “The Iron County Sharpshooters are grateful for all of our supporters.”
The club meets at Artemis Archery, next to Charlie’s Emporium in Crystal Falls, every Thursday from 3:30-5 p.m.
“Our leaders are ready to teach you everything you need to know about bb gun, air rifle, .22 rifle, shotgun and archery,” said Absolon.
