Premo to speak at Watershed meeting
AMASA— The next meeting of the Iron County Watershed Coalition will be held on Wednesday, June 19, at 4:30 p.m. at the West Iron District Library in Iron River.
Following the meeting, at 6 p.m., Bette Premo will present a program on the top 10 contaminant issues in the Upper Peninsula.
Premo will speak about drinking water quality issues such as e.coli bacteria, lead, copper, nitrates and arsenic, as well as emerging environmental issues with agricultural water, PFAS, microplastics, stamp sands and cannabis contaminants.
These issues have been chosen as top 10 based upon the 35 years of experience that White Water Associates Inc. has had in dealing with testing, sampling and consulting for municipalities, industries and the public.
The public is welcome to attend both the meeting and the presentation. Refreshments will be served.
