Phelps Midwest Musky Classic early bird deadline Sept. 15

PHELPS, Wis.— Come catch the big one in Phelps this fall. There’s still time to meet the early bird registration deadline of Sept. 15 for a chance at a free registration for 2019.
    The 38th annual Midwest Musky Classic will take place Oct. 5-7. The tournament includes fishing on North Twin, South Twin, Lac Vieux Desert and Big Sand Lakes in Phelps The biggest fish registered during the tournament is worth $1,200 cash and a Lax Replica of the winning musky.
    Friday kicks off the tournament, with fishing from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the same hours on Saturday, and finishes off on Sunday with fishing from 7-11 a.m.
    Cash prizes valued at over $2,400 and “Big Fish of the Day” prizes of more than $500 will be awarded on Sunday at the awards luncheon, to take place at the Phelps Fire Hall. Entry fees are $85 a person. This includes the “Big Fish” contest for each day, Sunday’s lunch and a tournament hat.
