MSUE sets IR workshop on shoreline planning, zoning
NEGAUNEE—MSU Extension will conduct a workshop in two U.P. locations intended to help local officials and citizens understand the benefits of inland lakes to communities, the regulations that govern inland lakes and the opportunities that exist for protecting them at the local level.
The local workshop will be held in Iron River on Thursday, Sept. 17, (for part one) and on Thursday, Sept. 24, (for part two). Both sessions run from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
“Inland lakes are places where family and friends gather to enjoy each other and the recreational opportunities that abound. Memories created during these times inspire a generation to share the experience with the next,” said Brad Neumann, government and public policy educator for Michigan State Extension in a press release.
