Mineral Hills area welcomes baby loon

Loons typically lay one or two eggs per season, with an incubation period of about one month. Hatchlings only stay in the nest for about a day before leaving to venture out on the waters. Before long, the baby will weigh too much to ride atop and will start swimming.
