Local sportsman authors children’s fishing adventure story
CRYSTAL FALLS—Benjamin M. Feldhausen of Crystal Falls has written a Northwoods fishing adventure story entitled “Beast from the Boondox”.
He will be doing a book signing and reading on March 17 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Once Upon A Time Bookstore. Children can listen as he reads his book at 2 p.m. The bookstore is located at 419 Washington Ave. in Iron River.
Feldhausen is an avid outdoor enthusiast that created the story based upon a weekend ice fishing trip with his young son and some family friends. The storyline rhymes with imaginative color illustrations that reflect a legendary tale of swamp creatures and frenzy during an Upper Peninsula blizzard.
Feldhausen is a 1989 graduate of Iron Mountain High School, a dual baccalaureate honors graduate of Michigan Technological University and is professionally licensed as both a surveyor and engineer.
“This has been a unique family project and provides kids a story about an outdoor activity that’s fun to read,” he said. “I’m really honored to share this story and some traditional Yooper culture.”
The book is available at numerous local business outlets and is also available globally on Amazon.com. Visit www.beastfromtheboondox.com for additional details and other listings for signing events and presentations.
