Hunter Safety Field Day proceeds after special training given to instructors

IRON RIVER — The Iron County Hunter Safety Field Day was held on Saturday, Aug. 15 at Camp Gibbs Recreation Area in Iron River. A total of 47 graduated and received their Hunter Safety Certificates on that day after completing home and online class instruction and the field day.
The countywide field day had certified instructors from Iron River and Crystal Falls areas that received special training for the event to abide by the state mandated COVID-19 guidelines.
Social distancing, no contact instruction, sanitizing and the wearing of masks were utilized during the course.
Certified instructors included Tony Dallavalle, Dean Dallavalle, Cliff Santi, Jerry Williams and Art Flancher.
Each of the students ages 10-16 that graduated will have their hunting license purchased for them and can call Dean Dallavalle at 265-4242 for the license information.
