Glacial Gardeners scholarship applications now available

FLORENCE, Wis.— Glacial Gardeners Master Gardener Association volunteers have announced that the Inga Fleming Memorial Scholarship will once again be available to area students.
    Students pursuing a two- or four-year degree in one of the following qualifying majors are eligible: agriculture or applied economics, agricultural education, agronomy, botany, entomology, environmental sciences, forest service, horticulture, landscape architecture, plant pathology, soil science or wildlife ecology.
    Students may be first year or returning. Applications for the $500 award are available at all high school counselor offices in Iron and Dickinson counties as well as Florence and the Niagara corner of Marinette counties in Wisconsin.
    Applications are also available online at www.florence.uwex.edu. Deadline for application is May 1, 2018.
    To date, Glacial Gardeners have awarded $18,500 in scholarships.
    Glacial Gardeners is a Wisconsin Master Gardener Volunteer Association and works in conjunction with UW-Extension to extend university-based research on horticulture to the general public.
