Connor Sports, Forest Park to host timber harvest education event
CRYSTAL FALLS—Connor Sports, in partnership with Forest Park High School, is holding a timber harvest education event on Wednesday.
The sustainable forestry education event will begin the production of the official custom court for the 2015 NCAA men’s Final Four court and demonstrate sustainable forestry to Forest Park students.
The event, called “Making the Science Fun,” will start at 8:30 a.m. at Forest Park High School. The remainder of the event will run until 1 p.m. and will take place at the school’s forest event site, Section 33, T45N, R33W, SENW off U.S. 141 approximately 12 miles north of Forest Park School in Amasa.
Activities will include interactive stations staffed by Connor Sports and local forestry professionals for students and the felling of the first tree to be used in the production of the court.
At 11 a.m., a new sign at the forest area site will be dedicated to the Forest Park school district by Connor Sports.
