Big 4+ holds annual membership picnic
LONG LAKE, Wis.—The Big 4+ Sportsman’s Club held its annual membership picnic at its clubhouse in Long Lake on Saturday, July 18.
More than 90 people turned out to enjoy a day of trap shooting, raffles and good food.
Winner of the Big 4+’s annual raffle were drawn at 4 p.m. Richard Losse (Green Bay) won the first prize, a Savage Bolt Action Axis .270 Win rifle. Sue Moore (Green Bay) won the second prize, two face cords of firewood donated by Ed Borske (Alvin). Jerry Homel (Green Bay) won the third prize, a Kindle Paperwhite; Joe Dishaw (Florence) and Scottie Wyosnick (Union Grove) won the fourth and fifth prizes, $50 each cash.
Numerous other prizes donated by area businesses and national manufacturers were also raffled off throughout the day.
The 50-Bird Lewis Shoot had 54 entries this year and paid out five classes, with each class winning $75. Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. The winners and their scores were: Ed Borske (Alvin) with 50, Jerry Werner (Mount Pleasant) with 47, Laura McHugh (Newald) with 45, Tom McHugh (Waukesha) with 43 and Paige Ebert (Franksville) with 40. Lewis class shooters could also play options, which paid $74 each. Ties were broken by sudden-death shoot offs. Dave Ludwig (Delefield) won 25 straight on trap 1 and Ed Borske won 25 straight on trap 2.
Dave Lugwig also won High Gun and Curt Reige (Watertown) won Long Run. Numerous steak and bacon competitions were held resulting in spirited shoot offs.
The Big 4+ Sportsman’s Club extends its thanks to all who helped make this year’s picnic a success.
