4-H Sharpshooters keep on competing

Members of the Iron County 4-H Sharpshooters participated in the 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament on June 9 at the Sagola Township Sportsmen’s Club in Channing. “Our Iron County 4-H Sharpshooters got all tuned up and ready for the 2018 State 4-H Invitational Tournament to be held on Aug. 4 in Kimball,” said club leader Marvin Hill. “Archery, BB gun, sporter air rifle, .22 cal. sporter rifle were the disciplines they participated in. All our members performed well and took first place in archery junior open class, first place in sporter air rifle individual junior, first place in bb gun individual junior, second place in sporter air rifle junior and senior divisions and a second place in .22 sporter rifle individual senior. division. Several silver and bronze medals were awarded in the various team classes.” Seven shooters qualified for the trip to Kimbal for the State 4-H Tournament. The group departs on Friday, Aug. 3, the shoot is on Saturday, Aug. 4 and they return home on Aug. 5.  (submitted photos)
