Winter Wykon Week begins
IRON RIVER—It’s week of the Winter Wykon at West Iron County High School. Activities began Monday and will run through Friday.
The theme of this week is “Countries.”
Each grade has chosen a country for its theme and will be representing its country throughout homecoming week.
The themes for the grades are as followed:
Freshman-Australia; Sophomores-Spain; Juniors-England; Seniors-Tanzania/Africa
The theme days are as followed:
-Monday: College day, wear college clothing
-Tuesday: Tourist/theme day, dress like a tourist representing your country
-Wednesday: Multiple T-shirt day, put as many shirts on as you can
-Thursday: Gothic day, wear all the black you have
-Friday: blue-and-white day, show your Wykon spirit and wear your blue-and-white
The Homecoming game will be on Friday with the Wykon boys hosting Calumet. The Week of the Winter Wykon King and Queen will be announced at halftime of the game. Tipoff is set for 6:20 p.m.
The winter homecoming dance for high-schoolers will be held at the Stambaugh Elementary School gymnasium from 8-11 p.m. Admission is $5 per person.
