WIC kindergarten, GSRP, pre-school registration ongoing
IRON RIVER—Registration for students entering kindergarten and the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP- 4-year olds) for the 2020-21 school year is ongoing.
Parents are welcome to stop by the elementary office between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to pick up a registration packet. Stambaugh Elementary School is located at 700 Washington Ave. in Iron River.
Children must be 5 years of age by Sept. 1, 2020, to enroll in kindergarten for next fall (all day, every day). All students are required by state law to present a certified birth certificate and a current immunization record prior to the start of the 2020-21 school year.
Children must be 4 years of age by Sept. 1, 2020, to enroll in GSRP (half-day program; parents may choose morning or afternoon sessions).
Children must be 3 years of age and potty trained by Sept. 1, 2020, to enroll in Tot-Lot (Friday mornings).
Parents are required to bring copies of their child’s birth certificate and current immunization records. Hearing and vision screenings are also required for kindergarten entry.
The Dickinson-Iron Health Department will hold a hearing and vision clinic in the spring. Parents will be able to schedule appointments by calling the health department at 265-9913.
Parents who do not have a current immunization record for their child can make an appointment for that as well.
