West End Players to perform ‘Matilda the Musical’ in Dec.
IRON RIVER—The West End Players have announced that their 2019 winter musical will be Roald Dahl’s “Matilda the Musical” directed by Jason Mattson. The musical will be performed at the Windsor Center on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13 and Dec. 14, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. Audition dates are Monday and Tuesday Sept. 9 and Sept. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Windsor Center auditorium.
“We are looking to cast a total of 16 young children, ages 7-11 for the school children characters, and approximately 8-10 actors 12 years and up to play older characters such as school teens and adult roles,” Mattson said. “There will be specific song and reading requirements at the audition. Volunteers will also be needed for constructing and designing sets, painting, stage crew, lights, costumes, and hair and makeup.”
Practices will be held at the Windsor Center on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:30-8 p.m. and occasionally on Saturday mornings as needed.
