U.S. Census bureau seeks workers in Iron County
IRON RIVER — The United States Census Bureau is seeking census takers in Iron County.
Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau is responsible for conducting the nationwide census. The bureau is actively recruiting to fill important positions.
An accurate count is the goal of every census. The results of the census have real-world impacts and consequences for communities across the country. From determining the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives to planning for roads, schools and hospitals, an accurate count is crucial.
By helping in the effort, a community can be assured that it is properly represented.
Apply online at 2020census.gov/jobs. Applicants must be 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, have a valid social security number and email address. Males born after Dec. 31, 1959 must also be registered with the Selective Service System or have a qualifying exemption. As part of the application process, applicants will be asked questions related to their educational, work and other experiences.
