NW Singers, Youth Choir to perform holiday concerts

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. — The Northwoods Singers and the Northwoods Singers Youth Choir will kick off the holiday concert season with a concert on Thursday, Dec. 5, at Grace Covenant Church in Iron River. The “Carols by Candlelight” series will begin with the 7 p.m. show.
    The second concert will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Eagle River.
         Both concerts are free, and goodwill offerings will be appreciated.
         The third concert will be held at 7 p.m. at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts in Three Lakes, Wis. There will be a small admission fee for this concert since it is part of the center’s 2019 concert series.
        Refreshments will be offered at each concert.
        The Singers are under the direction of Dr. Pamalyn Lee.      
    The Northwoods Singers are a Wisconsin-Northern Michigan cross-border community choral group which rehearses every Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Eagle River.
      The Youth Choir currently meets in Eagle River. The group, sponsored by the Northwoods Singers, is dedicated to giving each student the opportunity to study, research, and present choral music.
     The festive three-concert series will feature unique holiday melodies, as well as interludes of audience participation.
     Musical accompaniment for the concerts will include piano, flute, percussion, and the newly formed Northwoods String Trio.
     The Northwoods Singers and the youth group are committed to bringing fine choral music to Northwoods audiences and expanding the choral repertoire and performance experience of participating members.
