Mansfield ecumenical service set for July 25
MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP—The Mansfield Memories Committee will sponsor its annual summer ecumenical church service on Thursday, July 25, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The old pump organ will again accompany many favorite hymns and gospel songs. Everyone is invited to join in the singing. Pastor Jim Janofski of the Randville Bible Church will officiate the ecumenical service.
The committee extends an open invitation to anyone wishing to attend the service and hopes attendees will stay and enjoy lunch and fellowship afterward. No admission fee is ever charged at the church; however, a freewill offering will be taken to help defray expenses.
“Each year hundreds of people visit the unique church and express their appreciation of the efforts of those who helped in the reconstruction of the only church Mansfield has known in its 128-year history,” said Shirley Beck, secretary of the Mansfield Memories Committee.
Directions to Mansfield’s historic district and this special log church are as follows: From M-69 (about 4 miles east of Crystal Falls or about 6 miles west of Sagola) turn north on the Mansfield Cut-Off Road. Travel until you reach a fork in the road and turn left onto Stream Road. Another 1/2 mile and to arrive at the church site.
