Living, singing and sharing the blues in Alpha at the End-of-Summer Blues Fest

The musicians were singing the blues but the crowd at the End-of-Summer Blues Fest on Aug. 24 in Alpha was in high spirits for the annual event. The day began with the Blessing of the Bikes and Bikers along with Veterans Freedom Ride and Memorial Poker Run. It continued at the Alpha pavilion with five blues bands, the Bluez Berry Pie Eating Contest, refreshments provided by the American Legion Riders Post 21, food and merchandise vendors. The weather cooperated and the crowd filled the pavilion area to listen to the Flat Broke Blue Band, Lark Brothers, U.P. Gumbo, Heather Crosse Band and Sons of Legend. The event was presented by Bob Black Promotions.
