IC Youth Camp announces summer camping season

CRYSTAL FALLS—The Iron County Youth Camp has scheduled the 2019 camping season. The season includes Senior Citizen Days, Band Days and the 75th year of Youth Camp.
    Senior Days at Youth Camp are scheduled for June 12, 13 and 14 and will provide an opportunity for the seniors of Iron County to enjoy numerous out-of-doors activities while meeting up with old friends and making some new. River rafting, lake cruising, canoeing, archery, jewelry and basket making, wood and leather crafting, bat-house building, singing, dancing, cribbage and smear tournaments, are a few of the things you can expect on Senior Days. Register for one, two or all three Senior Citizen Days by signing up at Iron County Senior Centers beginning May 28, or call the Youth Camp after June 10 at 265-4476.
    The 2019 Iron County Band Camp is scheduled for the week of June 16-22. During this week, 14 instruments instructors and musicians from all over the United States will be coming to Iron County to teach and work with high school and junior high school band students. These 14 instrumental specialists will perform for the public at a Thursday evening faculty concert in Friends Hall at the Youth Camp beginning at 7:30 p.m., June 20, followed by refreshments in the mess hall. Admission is free and everyone is invited.
    The West Iron Public Schools will host the 65th annual Band Camp Student’s Concert on June 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the West Iron County School Gymnasium. Admission is free and everyone is invited.

    Iron County Youth Camp begins June 23 and continues on a weekly schedule for five consecutive weeks. During these weeks co-ed campers 9-16 years of age can enjoy the many activities that have made Camp Batawagama popular for the past 75 years. Registration forms are now available at the West Iron County School offices and the Forest Park School office.
