Fundraising efforts for Veterans Memorial underway

The Council’s donation kicked off fundraising efforts for refurbishment of the Iron River Honor Roll Park, which will rely on public support and which has a goal completion date of Memorial Day 2019.

IRON RIVER—A fundraising campaign for the planned refurbishment of the Iron River Honor Roll Park is officially underway, and there are plenty of ways for individuals, businesses and other organizations to contribute to the cause.
    Donations can be delivered directly to the city at Iron River City Hall or mailed to the City of Iron River at 106 W. Genesee. Donations can be in the form of check or cash. All checks should be made payable to “City of Iron River,”,with a notation of “Veterans Memorial” in the memo line. The city will issue a receipt for anyone donating in cash for tax purposes.
    Donations of check or cash may also be made directly to any local veterans’ organization, which will in turn contribute these accumulated donations to the city.

    The planned refurbishment will cost around $38,000, and the goal completion date is Memorial Day 2019.
