CRYSTAL FALLS—This week is Homecoming and Spirit Week at Forest Park High School as students are engaged in high-spirited competitions all week long.
Dress-up days, part of the competition, started Monday with Mis-match Day, followed by Twin Day on Tuesday, Class Color Day on Wednesday, Dress Your Theme on Thursday, and Red/Black Day on Friday.
Students were given the opportunity to show their school spirit by attending the bonfire on Monday evening with class games for overall points. Wall decorating will be held on Wednesday. This year’s theme for walls is “Classic Cartoons.” The public is invited and encouraged to view the walls any time prior to or during the football game on Friday.
On Friday, the school will hold its annual pep assembly from 1:20-3:10 p.m. The pep assembly will feature a powderpuff football game, class cheer competition, tug-of-war and other activities.
The Trojans will face the Newberry Indians on Friday with kickoff at 6 p.m. Halftime will feature the Forest Park Marching Band’s performance and the introduction of this year’s Homecoming Court.
Coronation of the king and queen will take place during halftime, as well as the announcement of winners of all class competitions and Homecoming activities that took place during the week.
The Homecoming dance will be held after the football game in the high school cafeteria.
