Fall Fest quilts auctioned as camp fundraiser

Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp recently held its annual Fall Fest and Quilt Auction to raise funds to support the camps activities throughout the year. Quilts and fine arts were available for viewing in the chapel before the auction event began. Brunch was served to attendees in the dining hall prior to the auction.  During the auction, the seats were full, and attendees bid aggressively for the quilts of their choice. The highest-priced quilt sold for $500. The event is associated and partially organized in conjunction with the Sisters of the Cloth quilting group. The chapel was standing room only during the 11 a.m. quilt auction and Ken Seaton, auctioneer for the event, kept things moving at a competitive pace. Ninety quilts were donated to the auction by various quilting groups within the camp’s Synod this year and the profits will help to keep the camp affordable for all people to attend the camps throughout the year.  -- photos by Stephanie Dye
