Drop-off location open for Operation Christmas Child
CRYSTAL FALLS—The Iron County Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Project will receive the community’s shoebox drop-offs from Nov. 12-17 at the Lakeview Bible Church, located at 1211 U.S. 2 in Crystal Falls.
Drop-off hours will be Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday from noon to 7 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Local volunteers partner with Samaritan’s Purse to send the shoeboxes all over the world.
Crystal Falls is among 5,000 drop-off sites in the U.S. collecting during the time frame. U.P. projects are hoping to contribute 10,000 boxes to contribute to the 2018 global goal of reaching 11 million children in need. The shoeboxes are filled with school supplies and colorful gifts and will soon be on their way to children who may have never received a gift before.
Schools, churches, and orphanages located in poverty, famine, and disaster impacted areas will distribute these boxes along with a gospel message of hope and love.
“We have an opportunity to make a life-changing impact on children across the world,” said Crystal Falls volunteer and drop-off leader Judy Hingos, who has participated in Operation Christmas Child for 20 years.
