Crystal Falls Library to hold outdoor book sale, concert
CRYSTAL FALLS — The Crystal Falls District Community Library will hold an outdoor book sale from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 31, outside of the library.
The library requests that attendees maintain social distancing for the sale.
Troy Graham of Marquette, accompanied by Heather Evans, will perform the concert in the pocket park.
Graham is a folk singer-songwriter, poet, children’s entertainer and workshop leader. His music spans a range from old-time, bluegrass, folk, indie and gospel. He has recorded over a dozen albums and is a published poet.
“(Graham) is a favorite at the Crystal Falls Library,” library director Evelyn Gathu said.
“Along with having several concerts there, last year he also spent the day at Forest Park schools hosting a poetry workshop for the entire secondary school.”
Evans is an all-around musical talent from the U.P. She harmonizes on vocals, plays bass (upright and electric), guitar, and drums. Her musical range varies from punk to bluegrass and songwriting. She started playing music and touring with Graham at a young age in the bluegrass band, Sparrow Tree. As a duet they currently perform at festivals and other community events.
For the sale, the library will have the following items available: fiction books, nonfiction books, juvenile books, young adult books, picture books, biographies, Christian fiction books, large print books, adult audiobooks, tons of young adult and juvenile audiobooks, magazines, music CDs and DVDs. In case of rain, the sale and concert will be moved indoors. To adhere to the library’s reopening policy, 10 patrons at a time will be allowed in for the sale.
